League of Legends Patch 13.17 brings exciting changes to the game, with a focus on top champions, powerful junglers, and Immortal Shieldbow users. The update includes buffs, nerfs, and adjustments to 21 champions, as well as tweaks to eight items and one rune. Riot Games aims to shift top champions towards durability and balance the impact of junglers on the game. Additionally, new Cosmic-style skins will be released in August’s last update.
When will League Patch 13.17 go live?
League Patch 13.17 will go live on Wednesday, Aug. 30. The update will be rolled out on major League servers throughout the day, with server downtime expected. Matchmaking will be disabled three hours before the update is officially set live.
What’s in League Patch 13.17?
‘Killing machines’ lose power: Aatrox, Vi, Blitzcrank, Hecarim, and Xin Zhao are being shifted away from pure killing power builds towards more durability-focused strengths. The goal is to reduce their snowball potential if they have a strong early game.
Top junglers whacked again, Blitzcrank plan dropped: Kayn, Kindred, Kha’Zix, and Naafiri are being nerfed to level out the impact of the jungle role on the game. Blitzcrank is no longer being forced into a different role and will be focused on as a support pick.
Space skins stir up League controversy: New Cosmic-style skins will be released for Nautilus, Nunu and Willump, Sion, and Bel’Veth. Jhin will also receive a new skin, but it will only be available through a controversial “gacha” system.
